Connecting business needs with practical technology
I started in 2007 by co-founding an IT services company in Damascus and running it for eight years. We began with maintenance and support contracts for hospitals, embassies and private companies, and over time moved into custom software, websites and hosting.
After that I led a development team and then the Damascus branch of ProiTS, around seventeen people working on projects for clients in the Gulf. Since 2019 I have worked in business development in Istanbul, SEO and project management for an agency in Dubai, and most recently the design and delivery of a subscription platform for a client in Hamburg.
The work I keep coming back to is the part before the build: sitting with a business, understanding how it actually runs, and deciding what should be made. The delivery side I learned the slower way, by being the person responsible when something slipped.
I hold a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology Engineering, which the ZAB has evaluated as comparable to a German Bachelor's degree. Hiring, mentoring and reviewing people has been a large part of my working life, and that side of the job matters to me as much as the technical side.
